About Taichiro Naka
I grew up skiing in Hokkaido, the island of ‘Japow’ in Japan. I moved to New Zealand in 2001 and I live in Mount Cook village, where the centre of Southern Alps lies. Since then I'm deeply in love with the natural environment that New Zealand can offer. I'm an IFMGA-certified mountain guide and a member of New Zealand Mountain Guides Association. I guide all over the Southern Alps of NZ, especially rock climbing, alpine climbing, instruction courses in summer, heliskiing, ski touring, ice climbing in winter.
