About Sayaka Iwamoto

I am a trekking guide from Japan with JMGA Hiking Guide Stage 2 certification as well as SAJ Ski / Snowboard instructor certificate. I live in the city of Takayama, rich in history and nature. In the summer, I am a trekking guide mainly guiding in the mountain ranges of the North Japan Alps at around 3000m+ and in the spring and autumn, I guide hiking in lower mountains enjoying the flora and fauna. In the winter, I enjoy guiding people to experience the Japanese powder snow via snowshoe trekking or skiing and snowboarding. Japan is unique in that it has a distinctive 4 seasons. I’ll guide you in all these different seasons, producing the best outdoor experience throughout the year! My hobby is skate boarding and river fishing in the deep forests / mountains. I used to live in the UK for 6 years and I enjoy the exchanges I have with foreign visitors, sharing cultures, histories and traditions. I’m looking forward to being able to show you what Takayama and Japanese mountains have to offer to the world!
