About Matti Saapunki
I’m a mountain guide from Finland with a deep passion for the mountains. I offer safe and enjoyable days outdoors, combining professional guiding with good company and meaningful experiences. In the summer, I guide climbers across the Alps—from multi-pitch rock routes in the Dolomites to alpine climbs in the high peaks of the Valais. Whether it’s your first alpine ascent or a more technical objective, I’m always seeking out the best conditions to match the goal and the group. In the winter, I focus on freeride guiding — my greatest passion. I spend the early season chasing powder in the Alps before heading north to Scandinavia for the spring season. Whether on skis or a snowboard, I’m always searching for the best snow and the most rewarding lines. My specialty lies in exploring the endless ski touring terrain of the Nordics — especially those untouched places where silence and adventure meet.
