About Maarten Van Haeren

Growing up in the rather flat country of the Netherlands, I never knew what I was missing till visiting the Canadian Rockies in my early 20s. We live in the small town of Exshaw, surrounded by tall limestone peaks. I'm a passionate alpine climber, working and recreating around Banff, Lake Louise and the Icefields Parkway. I'm certified as an apprentice Alpine Guide with the ACMG. The Canadian Rockies are most known for their spectacular (and reliable!) ice and mixed climbing. Whether you're hoping to tick one of the hard classics or learn to swing an ice tool, we have it all!
