We loved the trek from Karale to Tasiilaq fjord. It was challenging but deeply rewarding, and we came away feeling changed. “Greenland showed me things about my life,” I now say and my husband agrees. He credits the trip for helping him make a long overdue decision to go back to university.
Rocky start because of the weather, but the logistics were well-organized and the scenery spectacular. Traveling companions were a great group of individuals that all contributed to the experience.
I may have missed it but I never noticed a rating of the difficulty of the hike on your site. Others had it rated 5 out of five). I was fine but that was an incredibly tough hike. The terrain is not for the weak of heart (or legs).
Guided hiking trip to Greenland’s fjords organized by Arctic Hiking and Expeditions, was a beautiful and immersive experience in Greenland’s untouched wilderness. The choice of trails allowed us to witness the diversity of Greenland’s terrain, despite the remoteness of the locations, the logistical and safety arrangements were seamless. The itinerary allowed for a balance of challenging hikes and leisurely strolls, catering to both seasoned hikers and those seeking a more relaxed pace. If you’re seeking a journey that transcends the ordinary and connects you with nature, this trip is an absolute must.
Einar’s knowledge led us to discover a beautiful, remote part of the world. Insightful explanations, enjoyable landscapes, and a well-adapted journey for all. Highly recommend for a delightful and disconnecting experience.
We spend the most amazing 8 days at the Icefjord Trek with Einar at the late summer 2023! The trek was very well planned: not too long day hikes, variable (and amazing) views, high quality camping equipment and so tasty dinners every night at the base camps. Einar is a calm and professional guide with great sense of humor and whom you can count on in the Greenlandic wilderness. The trek was just enough demanding and you do not need to be a professional in order to accomplish it or to enjoy it. We can recommend this trek to anyone who loves hiking, quiet nature and ridiculously beautiful views. It is worth every euro!
The hikes were amazing— breathtaking scenery and almost all hikes were off trail. The villages were colorful and interesting to walk around. On our hikes and boat trips we saw several kinds of whales.
We just completed a tour with Einar Finnsson (Arctic Hiking and Expeditions). I have been on two tours with Einar. Both were with groups of university students of about 12 students. The first tour was to the village of Kulusuk in Greenland (Spring 2019) and the second was to northern part of Iceland (Jan 2022). Both trips were incredible. In Greenland we lived in the small village of Kulusuk which only has a population of a couple hundred people, and a bunch of sled dogs. There we went snow shoeing and dog sledding. Every night we were there we watched the northern lights from our deck. It was a great trip to get away from cities, people, technology and just enjoy the nature of Greenland.Einar was an excellent guide and tailored our tours to our interests and number of days we had available. The was some inclement weather so we switched some of the days around. Every day of the 6-day trip Einar presented us with interesting information during our transport. He really knows Icelandic history, folklore, geology, geothermal etc. Einar is friendly, he pays attention to detail and he is a good story teller. And he provides awesome customs adventures. We will definitely design and experience another tour with Arctic Hiking and Expeditions.
Our hike on the Laugavegur trail was incredible. I would recommend this trip to anyone who can do it
