About Kristian Salomonsen
**Arctic Nature Guide** My name is Kristian Salomonsen, and I am originally from Denmark. As a child, I lived 2 years in Greenland, where I developed a strong passion for the outdoors. After finishing high school in Denmark, I moved to Norway to study arctic outdoor life (friluftsliv) at “Øytun Folkehøgskole” for one year. Then, I moved to Svalbard for a one-year “Arctic Nature Guide” study program which certifies guides to be able to lead tent based multi-day hiking trips in arctic climates. When I finished, I started working as a glacier guide and instructor during the summer season, leading many glacier hiking trips in southern Norway. From 2014 onward, I spent my summers working as an alpine climbing guide/instructor at Nordnorsk Klatreskole (Lofoten Mountain Guides), in Lofoten, northern Norway. Greenland is like a second home to me, and I am looking very much forward to share many nature experiences with you in this awe-inspiring location!
