About Iztok Ipavec
I'm an IFMGA mountain guide and also a mechanical engineer based in Celje, Slovenia. Over the past years, I’ve been on more than 700 alpine trips in the Western Alps, the Dolomites, Peru, Turkey and Greece. My favorite activities are climbing and skiing. In Peru, for example, I made a descent from the southern saddle of Vallunaraju (5696 m). Another challenging downhill on skis that I did was in the northern wall of Bavškega Grintavca and the massif Kanin. In addition to mountaineering, I enjoy practicing other sports like rock climbing, biking, whitewater kayaking and Pilates. I think these activities are a great source of spiritual and personal growth. I also love spending time with my family: my wife, daughter and our dog.
