About Eat Sleep Surf
Founder and instructor Quinn Carson never had access to the ocean or the mountains growing up. He grew up in Chicago as a wakeboarder, skateboarder and snowboarder. Once he learned to surf, everything changed. Quinn moved to California in 2011 and became a surf instructor working for three different surf schools. He became popular because his teaching approach was light-hearted, passionate and effective. Quinn fell in love with teaching and has since taught surfing in California, Florida, Hawaii, England and Costa Rica. The ocean and the mountains are Quinn’s intense passion. He has dedicated his career to exploring California and finding amazing places where you can surf, hike, climb, camp, and interact intimately with these two environments. The joy of sharing these amazing places and experiences with travelers and visitors is what drove Quinn to found Eat Sleep Surf. As a midwesterner himself, he knows what it is like to discover these passions for the first time, and he nurtures this discovery in every guest. Quinn is a certified Wilderness First Responder, AMGA climbing guide, and Red Cross lifeguard/CPR certified.
