About Ayako Kuroda
\- Skier \- 3rd in Women's Freeride Skiing Japan (57th in World Ranking) \- Residence: Tokyo \- English level: Native I was born in Tokyo but have been based in Whistler, BC in Canada since high school. I moved in order to compete more regularly in Junior freeriding competitions. At the moment, I am traveling around the globe as I compete in the FWQ Tour. I am currently ranked 3rd in Japan. In my spare time, I enjoy sharing my passion for freeriding with anyone and everyone who is interested in winter sports, including children. I love seeing people discover freeriding and realize how accessible it actually is. When I am home in Japan, I typically ride in Hakuba and Echigo Yuzawa, as well as Sapporo and Asahidake in Hokkaido. I have been skiing around Hokkaido since I was 6 years old, and this is the place that first opened my eyes to freeriding. I would love to share it with you.
