It was a very peaceful, enjoyable and challenging in a good way. Totally worth the effort that I put into it because at the end I learned with great effort comes great reward. My adventure started as soon as I got off the plane in North Carolina. From the hike, bunkhouse, caretaker’s and to my Guide. Went without a hitch. Very organized and well oiled. Thank you, Tom and Kate my caretaker's Thank you, Adam my Guide You all were the best!!!!❤️

I had a wonderful experience with Blue Ridge hiking the Roan Highlands. Hannah was a fantastic guide! She is experienced, knowledgeable and just a lot of fun. Every detail of the trip was carefully thought out. The scenery was so beautiful and a little fog in areas actually added to the beauty. I was traveling by myself and very fortunate to be with a great group of people for this trip. We had a lot of laughs together. This is my second trip with Blue Ridge Hiking Company and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone from the seasoned hiker to the first timer. They will take great care of you. Thank you Hannah! You are the best!!

5 stars all the way. Registered for my first overnight. I was beyond excited to experience the feeling of carrying a packed backpack and spending the night in the forest! Bev was our guide. What a wonderful experience she made this. Kind, caring and friendly! Equipment was well kept and up to date. I highly recommend this company and Bev. One of the greatest experiences of my life! Thank you! My heart is full! Kim Smith

My friends and I had an empowering experience with Blue Ridge Hiking company and Heidi Nisbett as our guide. She is extremely knowledgeable of all aspects of backpacking on the AT as well as the flora and fauna of the mountains. She explained how to set up and break down tents, use a sterno stove, collect and filter water, and even how to dig a cat hole ☺️ This all women trip is highly recommended for women who really want to learn backcountry camping in a safe, enjoyable manner. Early May was perfect for wild flower viewing in North Carolina, and Heidi knew the names of all of them!

I did the Women’s AT Backpacking trip with Jenna Carrol and it was excellent. I’m an avid day hiker and have been on a few guided backing trips too, but I was looking to test my gear in a setting with expert advice before I strike out on my own. Not only was Jenna excellent in helping assess and double check with me on my own gear. She was equally mindful of first time backpackers and provided detailed instructions on skills and let us practice. While I knew how to do some, she was so adept in allowing space to learn more advanced information too. Just a great experience. I also really enjoyed the pre-stay at the Trail-er and getting some hiker hostel experience too. Lastly, loved that there was a mix of group hiking but also chances to stretch out and get some alone hiking time if desired because it’s something I love too.

This trip covers over 45 miles of the Appalachian Trail in 5 days. The scenery is amazing. This is not an easy hike in the woods, there is a lot of elevation gain/loss over the 5 days so make sure you are in good shape with strong knees!

The trail Blue Ridge picked was the perfect choice. Rolling hills, doable climbs for the experienced hiker and a tad bit of a scramble that we were all successful with. Each days hike was challenging yet accomplished with hard work. Views, trails, water stops, shelters and trail conditions were all the perfect choice.

Rained off and on, terrain was challenging with a good amount of ascents. Tents and backpacks were of good quality. Shelters, water sources and privies were conveniently located at each night’s stop. All in all, a fun adventure!

Our 5 day hiking adventure on the Appalachian Trail was fun, challenging and quite the learning experience. I loved every minute. It’s not easy, and being in good physical condition along with training with a backpack prior to the trip will go a long way in making it even more enjoyable. I always felt safe knowing Mary our guide, would make good decisions if we needed to change our mileage or route due to trail conditions.
